  1. Please read our Drivers Discretion Policy prior to setting up a donation.
  2. Schedule a convenient pick up time for your gently used furniture by either filling out the Online Donations Form or by calling 210-442-2440
  3. We will send our staff to pick up your gently used home and office furniture
  4. Receive a tax deductible receipt in return for your charitable contribution
  5. The net proceeds of Furniture For A Cause directly support the homeless in San Antonio through SAMMinistries

Give back to those that have served this country!

Currently, Furniture For A Cause works with the Veterans Administration Homeless Division to provide basic furniture to homeless, disabled, veterans entering housing.  Each veteran is given a voucher which they bring to the store to redeem for furniture.  The furniture is paid for through generous donations into a fund specifically for furnishing homes for homeless, disabled, veterans.  All veterans who go through this program are assigned a case manager to provide thorough assistance and prevent recidivism. This fund is running low and we need your help to keep this great program running.  

The Veterans Administration Homeless Division has forecasted the need for furniture to support 50 veterans for the rest of the year.  The cost to furnish a home for a single veteran with basic furniture is $337 and the cost to furnish a home for a family of four (A veteran, their spouse, and two children) is $783.
In addition to furniture donations, the entire month of July Furniture For A Cause will also be collecting cash donations for this worthy fund.  To donate simply take a Donation Tag (located throughout the store and at the front counter), write in the donation amount, and take it to any sales associate.   Or mail in your donation to Furniture For A Cause at 5254 Blanco Rd, San Antonio, TX 78216, make checks payable to Furniture For A Cause.

 Driver Discretion Policy
At Furniture For A Cause we pride ourselves on the excellent condition of  the used furniture we sell.  For that reason we have implemented a Driver's Discretion Policy on all furniture and home accessory donation pick-ups.  Our drivers reserve the right to refuse any furnishings they deem to be too worn, battered, torn, scarred, or stained to be sold at Furniture For A Cause.  Please keep in mind that your generous donations will be used again and therefore need to be in good working condition.  We are looking for gently used items to either resell at Furniture For A Cause or to help furnish homes for individuals and families who have successfully completed the SAMMinistries programs and are moving out of a shelter into permanent housing.  For health reasons we cannot accept used mattresses or box springs.  We will gladly accept appliances if they are included in a furniture pick-up, however if you would like to donate only appliances or other non-furnishing items please contact the SAMMinistries Emergency Shelter donations center at 210-224-5838 ext 23.
